Known Issues with MMS

There are some known technical issues with MMS, including the following:

• Some mobile handsets have a size limitation, often of 30Kb (or 50Kb), for any single MMS. There will therefore be problems with these handsets when receiving MMS messages greater than 30Kb (or 50Kb). Even relatively new handsets can have these limits.
• Other restrictions that could be problematic are size limitations imposed by mobile operators' MMSCs. For example, Vodafone have an MMSC limit of 30Kb on any single MMS.
• Some T-Mobile users and some Vodafone users may have problems receiving MMS due to message size limitations imposed by these mobile operators.
• Direct MMS does not work very well on some handsets, such as older Nokias, due to the configuration of these handsets. It is up to the content provider to find out if a particular handset supports the delivery of MMS messages.
• Not all handsets support SMIL, such as older Nokia handsets e.g. Nokia 6800.
