MX Pay Marketing Opt-In Messages

Overview

MX Pay allows you to offer end users the chance to opt in to receive free marketing updates. The opt-in is presented after the end user has confirmed a one-off charge or subscription.

This page explains the options supported by the Charge To Account Gateway for post-confirmation marketing opt-in messages.

Marketing opt-ins

The details of the post-confirmation page are controlled by the following parameters, which you specify in the original charge or subscription request (for a full guide to making requests, see the One-off Charges and Subscriptions documentation).

The supported options vary between carriers: see Carrier Features for more details.

Parameter Value Effect
postConfirmationPage confirmation The standard post-confirmation page is displayed, with a marketing opt-in as specified by the value of optIn. This is the default if no postConfirmationPage value is specified.
none The user is directed straight to the fulfilment URL; it is not possible to collect marketing opt-ins. optIn must be no; otherwise the request will be rejected.
This option is valid only for T-Mobile transactions—AT&T send users directly to the fulfilment URL from their own payment system, and Virgin Mobile require the post confirmation page for all transactions.
optIn yes The user is prompted to opt in to messages from the merchant (default if no optIn value is specified).
no No opt-ins are displayed.

Custom delivery messages are not supported on AT&T.
