MX Telecom invited to join MMA Consumer Best Practices Committee

New York - 18th November 2005

MX Telecom today announced that Alex Moir, CEO North America, has been invited to serve on the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) Consumer Best Practices Committee. The committee comprises representatives from each major US wireless carrier, as well as a few selected representatives from the wider industry, and was formed to create guidelines that set the rules by which carriers and content providers engage the consumer in the mobile marketing space.

"Invitation on to the Consumer Best Practices committee is a great endorsement of MX Telecom's position as a leading player in the US mobile content industry value chain. I am delighted to be representing our clients and the industry in this most important forum," commented Alex. "This is an important time for the development of our industry. The revised Guidelines we create will help ensure its continued sustainability and profitability by improving a consumer's experience when interacting with shortcodes for content on their phones, and by establishing efficiencies and common standards for brands, advertisers and carriers."

The committee will begin work immediately on the next draft of the Best Practices Guidelines. The MMA also plans to hold an industry forum in January 2006 to allow interested constituents to provide their feedback. It aims to publish the Guidelines by the end of Q1 2006. The current version of the Consumer Best Practices guidelines can be viewed at
