Known Issues with MMS

There are some known technical issues with MMS, including the following:

• Care should be taken when attempting to submit MT MMS messages > 100 KB as older handsets will not be able to display the message correctly. While messages to Three and Orange will always deliver (though Orange may repurpose the content) messages to other networks where the handset cannot handle the content will either be replaced with a notification SMS, arrive in a corrupt form, or disappear altogether.
• For MT MMS the message originator should be set to a MSISDN or a shortcode as some networks will not accept alphanumeric originators. Since some campaigns are network-specific, the gateway will accept alphanumeric originators. If you wish to use an alphanumeric originator please contact your account manager for guidance.
• All text contained in the MMS zip should be UTF-8 encoded.
• When sending 3gp video, for best results, the relevant manifest file entry should read your_file_name.3gp=video/3gpp
