User-facing information
When your account is set up by MX Telecom, you will need to provide the following information to your account manager.
- Merchant trading name
- Customer service helpline number
- Website URL
- Merchant logo (optional)
- Terms and conditions
- Customer service email address
- Registered name of the merchant
- Registered address of the merchant
- URL for incoming notifications from the gateway
This information is used for display to the end user (except the notification URL).
Brands
The Charge To Account Gateway allows you to have multiple brands on your account. Each brand has its own set of user-facing information and can have its own notification URL.
This enables you to use a single Charge To Account Gateway account to process payments from multiple applications with their own identities, and ensure that the user-facing WAP pages are customised correctly for each one.
Each brand linked to your account will have its own identifying value of the brand parameter.
You can specify a brand value in any one-off charge or subscription setup request you make (see the one-off charge and subscription API pages for details). If no value is specified, the default brand is used.
To set up additional brands on your existing account, contact your account manager.
Running multiple services under one brand
The merchant trading name for each brand is configurable in each request. This enables you to run multiple services with different trading names under the same management and support brand.
The trading name is controlled by the tradingName parameter. This parameter enables you to set a different name per request for the same brand. All other details (including the logo) remain the same for the specified brand. For example, only the text "Merchant" would change in the next screenshot.
The name does not need to be preconfigured on your account. For example, to set the trading name to "ACME" for a request, you would specify tradingName=ACME in the request.
When the tradingName parameter is not specified, the default merchant trading name for the brand is displayed. This is the trading name first supplied to MX Telecom for the brand.
Logo format
You can supply a logo image for each brand set up on your account. To ensure that the logo is rendered to the highest possible quality across all handsets it is important to provide the logo in GIF and JPEG format.
The logo will display at the top of the page, as shown with the "ACME" logo below:
Requirements for the image:
Height no more than 40 pixels
Width no more than 240 pixels
Image files should be stripped of comments
GIF files must not use transparency or animation
JPEGs must not be encoded as greyscale
If you do not supply a logo, the trusted WAP pages will be presented in an alternative layout with the Payforit logo at the top of each page.
Effect on user experience
