MMS Short Code Service

Overview

Using mobile operator Short Codes is technically the highest inbound volume MMS solution available. It provides the ability to receive MMS messages without having to use a Virtual Mobile solution.

Incoming MMS messages are handled via MX Telecom's direct connections with the UK mobile networks, via the use of 5-digit Short Code "MMS Send-In" numbers, as part of a Two-Way messaging service. This allows content providers to outsource all MMS receipt requirements.

MMS 5-digit Short Code numbers are completely identical to SMS Short Codes, in that the same numbers for content providers' services can be used to receive both MMS and SMS messages.

Upon receipt of an MMS message on a Short Code number, MX Telecom's MMS servers will automatically send a Standard Web HTTP request to your own servers. This request will include the sender's mobile number, a .zip file (which contains all the components of the MMS message itself) and a time/date stamp.
