Introduction

Founded in 2000, MX Telecom is a rapidly growing mobile services aggregator with a focus on SMS, MMS, Voice and Video services. We work with companies such as 118 118, Twitter and the BBC to bring mobile services to the fore. With a reputation for innovation and technical excellence the need to produce complete, clear and accurate documentation becomes increasingly important.

To meet increasing demand we are looking to expand our existing Documentation and Design team. Currently the team comprises a Documentation Manager, a Technical Writer and a Graphic Designer.

Responsibilities

• Design and write a variety of internal/client-facing technical documents, often from scratch, including API guides, reference manuals, architectural and technical overviews and "How To" instructions.
• Proof-read, edit and revise documents written by developers and technical writers.
• Work alongside a Graphic Designer to ensure that documentation is as expressive as possible.
• Organise existing documentation, identifying gaps and taking steps to fill them.
• Assist our commercial teams with writing marketing-focused product documentation.

Experience and Skills Required

• A proven track record of researching and writing top-quality technical documentation.
• An aptitude for explaining complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• A knowledge of Web application development, HTTP protocols and object-oriented programming will be considered advantageous, as will a practical knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• The role is technically demanding and, while not a prerequisite, a background in software is highly desirable.
• Evidence of a personal interest in technology will be looked upon favourably.
