Description of Role
The candidate will be working with our application platforms fulfilling a technical client-facing role across one or more business areas including SMS, MMS, Location Based Services, IVR/Telephony, Video and Bespoke Application Development.
Responsibilities
- Interfacing between our technical team and clients of our application platforms
- Providing pre-sales technical support and product-specific expertise to the sales team
- Providing post-sales technical support and configuration assistance to the client
- Consulting with the client for feature enhancements and bespoke development, and communicating these requirements to product managers
- Troubleshooting and customisation of systems
- Requirements capture and overseeing delivery of solution to client
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will satisfy most of the following requirements:
- A Computer Science, Maths or Engineering degree from a top class university with A-levels or equivalent at grades A-B.
- Excellent communication skills and technical insight.
- Practical experience of Java, ideally with exposure to common open source libraries such as Spring, Hibernate and Wicket.
- Interest in and enthusiasm for software.
- Experience of XP practices such as TDD, pair programming and refactoring.
- Ability to work quickly and responsively, building prototypes quickly and evolving these into scalable production-quality systems.
- Some demonstrable knowledge of Linux, HTML with CSS, databases and standard development tools.
